Mary Ann Moore Jackson was the second of Rev. Frank Moore and Savilla Com Moore were born in Thurman (Iowa) on November 27, 1930.

Mary Ann and Martha Jane were raised in Iowa in parsonages. Rev. Moore was their father. Mary Ann’s senior year at Mt. Ayr, Iowa. Mary Ann began working for the Mt. Ayr. Martha Jane, her sister, had already set out to Los Angeles to start her career. Mary Ann boarded a train to travel west with her sister, Martha Jane, who was at the bank. Mary Ann arrived in Los Angeles shortly after her friend, Kenneth Jackson, convinced her to go to Albuquerque (New Mexico) and transfer to another bank. While at the YWCA, Kenneth Jackson (a young pilot) stopped by and asked Mary Ann for “Betty.” Mary Ann jumped into his 1951 Mercury. Mary Ann and Jack were wed in Mt. Ayr, Iowa. They then moved to Prichard in Alabama where Jack worked for Mobile Drydocks and Mary Ann was a homemaker.
Martha Kay was their first child. Kenneth Jr. was their second child. They lived in Prichard and Thomasville, Huntsville. Hueytown. Dalton, Georgia. Rome, Georgia. Smyrna. Georgia. Jacksonville, Florida. Lumberton, North Carolina. Key West, Florida. Montgomery, Alabama.
Her earthly treasures include her family: Martha Kay Ausborn (Darrell), Anthony (Jennifer), Ausborn and Andrew (Megan). Adam (Morgan), Kenneth James Jackson (Cindy), William Jackson and Sarah Ann (Catlin). Mary Ann is the grandma of eight great-grandchildren, as well as several adult children whom she loved to mother. Visitation for Mary Ann Jackson is Saturday, January 7, 9 a.m. at First Methodist Andalusia. A celebration of her life will immediately follow at 10 a.m. Rev. Kenneth J. Jackson will officiate the celebration. Reba Wiley. She will be buried in Forest Hills Cemetery at a private grave.
The family asks that memorials be made to First Methodist Church, and designated “Threads Of Love”, a ministry that provides gowns for stillborn babies.
