Marty Robbins Roofing Co. began this week the first of four roofing jobs on buildings owned and managed by the City of Andalusia.

Thursday morning saw the Andalusia Farmers Market open its doors at 256 Historic Central Street. The Andalusia Police department and historic buildings that the City acquired in 2020 at 206-210 South Cotton Street, 222 South Cotton Street will also get new roofs. The first step towards redevelopment partnerships for South Cotton Street structures is the installation of new roofs.

Marty Robbins Roofing Co. offered $434,675 as a low bid for the projects. It was accepted by the Andalusia City Council in September 2022. One portion of the funds, $162 085, will be taken from the 2022 Series A. Bond Issues and $272,590 from the City’s capital improvements fund will be used.
