Andalusia Police Department made another arrest in an attempted robbery on Friday night at 9th Street.

Roosevelt Weaver III

Roosevelt Weaver III (22 years old), was arrested Monday for first-degree robbery. He was released on a $150,000 bond from the Covington county Jail.

Diandre Nicholas Sheridan (18, also from Andalusia) is Weaver’s codefendant. He remains in Covington County Jail on $150,000 bond.

The APD received almost simultaneous calls Friday night, which led to the investigation that resulted in arrests.

It didn’t take long for the APD to realize that his injury was due to an additional call about a 9th Street attempted robbery.

Homes reported that APD responded to the 9th Street Call. A victim was outside his vehicle when he was approached and threatened by a man wearing a mask and carrying an assault rifle.

The 9th Street resident pulled out his gun and fired several shots at the would-be robber. Witnesses and the shooter both identified Sheridan, who tried to rob the victim.

Chief Paul Hudson stated Tuesday that the investigation was continuing.
