Lisa Phu’s podcast Before Me airs in a two-part special on KTOO

Lisa Phu’s before Me podcast is about a long-awaited conversation between a mother and her daughter. It follows the story of one woman’s journey from Cambodia to America through war, violence, separation, loss, and new beginnings. KTOO will air Before Me in a special series of two episodes beginning Tuesday, January 17.

Today’s Juneau Afternoon hosts Lisa and Andy Kline. They discuss how the podcast was created, the process of learning her mother’s story and the media coverage it has received. Lisa will also talk with Andy Kline about Lisa’s Fireside Chat tonight at Mendenhall Glacier.
