Jacksonville (AL) –Lily Grace Vernon, a JSU press officer, was crowned Miss JSU 2023 Friday night at the Leone Cole Auditorium. The university will be represented by the Jacksonville secondary education major at the Miss Alabama pageant, which takes place in June. Lauren Kilgore, a vocal performance major hailing from Moody, Ala., was the first runner-up. She won the talent contest singing “In My Dreams.” Ashanthe Gathers, an information major from Villa Rica (Ga.), received Darby Angle Acts Scholarship.
