James Hardy “Bill”, 90, of Andalusia, died Friday, January 13, 2023.

Funeral services were held for Mr. Tillman on Sunday, January 15, at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home. Brother Nathan Daniels officiated and burial followed at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation was Sunday, 12:30 – 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

His daughters and sons in law, Barbara G. Mikel (Dwight), Elizabeth T. Wilkes, (Buddy), his son and his daughter-inlaw, James “Bill” H. Tillman Jr., (Sherry); his grandchildren Brittany Daniel and Rebekah Rogoski, Mary Beth Sullivan and Sarah Anne Erickson; his great-grandchildren, Rachel Wilson, James Tillman III and John Tillman, Meredith Flatt, and many nieces and nephews.

Wilma Tillman, his wife, preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his parents Marvin and Exie Tillman, five sisters, and one brother.

His Army National Guard unit mobilized while he was in high school at Straughn during the Korean Conflict. He and others were forced to miss half of their senior year. He attended Troy University and graduated after his service. He worked for many years as a plant manager in Alatex shirt factory, Andalusia. He was a past chairman of the Bethany Baptist Church Deacons. He was also a member for 64 years of the Civitan Club, Andalusia. He will be deeply missed by his many friends and loved ones.

James Tillman III and John Tillman were the pallbearers.
