Kris Kringle isn’t the only one who has been making lists and going over it twice recently. Sammy and Kyle Pratt started compiling their own rundown this week. However, it was focused on the tasks they need to complete their new project.
They have been busy making a metaphorical bow for the pair. Pratt Brothers Christmas & Holiday Spectacular Their three-acre yuletide attraction in Mesa’s Bell Bank Park, which will debut Tuesday, November 22, is called.
Sammy says there is still much to do. Phoenix New Times During a recent interview.
“We are plugging everything into right now to check it out. He says that special effects, spotlights and flame [jets], as well as spark machines, are being added. “We’re getting all of it in concert so that we can fire this thing off and make sure it works perfectly when we open the doors to the public.”
It’s not dissimilar to the hectic preparations that the brothers made for the DIY holiday light display that they had set up at their Scottsdale home every year for seven years. The stakes are high with the Pratt Brothers Christmas & Holiday Spectacular However, they are much larger than its size.
Lights, rides, and more
There will be many buildings and scenes decorated with 6,000,000 colored lights. All of these lights will be synchronized to holiday music. This attraction boasts the same spectacles and spectacular effects as before, but with a few more.
Kyle states, “This will make our house seem smaller in comparison to what we did.” We’ve spent a lot more money, and it’s ten times bigger. It is massive. It includes spotlights that reach the sky, snow machines that cover everything, fire machines that shoot 16-foot flames and a professional 360-degree audio system. This will be a truly immersive holiday experience.
You will also find huge video screens, giant LED mega-trees that are 30-feet tall, machines that release festive scents into the air (think gingerbread, spices), spots to make cookies or s’mores, as well as a “Miracle Market” for holiday vendors, which will be managed by Gilbert retailers Ivy & Sage .
Customers can also ride the “Sweet Street”, a pair train-shaped vehicles that cruise through six areas inspired by confections such as “Cotton Candy Corner,” Sugar Plum Acres,” Marshmallow Way, and Peppermint Place.
Kyle explains that each of these lands are fully themed, not only with lights but also with characters, smells, animations and gags. It’s an immersive storytelling train ride.
Live music performances and costumed characters (including Santa Claus) will be featured at the event. Local celebrities may also appear.
Sammy states, “We’re going have some pretty big people that will help light the trees and the town. But we’re keeping [their identities] under wraps right now.”
It wouldn’t be Christmas without surprises, because it is the holidays.
Inspiration from Disney and Holiday Magic
Why did the Pratt brothers launch a huge commercial holiday attraction instead of a holiday light show at their family home? Kyle believes it was born out of a desire for something bigger and a lifetime love of Disney that began in childhood.
Kyle explains that as a child, every family holiday was to Disneyland. We would spend anywhere from five days to a full week there. Kyle and I inherited a house that our parents decorated with a lot of love. We didn’t want the Christmas magic to end so we took up this hobby. We tried to instill that same feeling in others and it became a beast.”
The Pratt brothers started their home display, which became known as Christmas Forever In 2015, while imagining a day at Walt Disney Company. They took a few cues form Disneyland and created a mockup for the clock face from “It’s A Small World.”
Christmas Forever was a huge success and grew exponentially in the following years. It was now 6,000 square feet and had attracted over 30,000 visitors by 2020. Sammy and Kyle’s Disney dreams didn’t pan out so they began to plan another move: creating their own attraction.
Kyle says, “We had to modify some of our dreams.”
Their home display was kept up for one last run last year, during which it was taken down. Filmed for an upcoming episode ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight They pulled the plug, and started planning the Pratt Brothers Christmas & Holiday Spectacular.

Pratt Brothers
Building their Attraction
The Pratts were contacted earlier this year by R Entertainment Scottsdale-based event promoter and developer, to support the project. They began to design the attraction and hired creative staff. They also consulted with Disney “Imagineers” and former Disney artists.
Kyle says, “They really know what they are doing and helped us to figure out spacing, color and design sense and fabrication.” They definitely played a part in this project.
He doesn’t think they should consider this their Disneyland.
Is this going to become our theme park?” Kyle states, “No,” but Kyle suggests that we could create something similar to a theme park in 10 years. We’ll never know.
The Pratt brothers will continue to encourage Valley residents to visit their Christmas & holiday Spectacular over the next few weeks. They will be up against other commercial holiday attractions such as the annual ZooLights display at Phoenix Zoo or the World of Illumination in Glendale or Tempe.
Kyle is confident that they will offer something new, but he says otherwise.
“People will find something new here that they won’t find anywhere else.” Kyle says that they can feel as if they are immersed in a completely different world. Sammy and me are most confident in our abilities to create something immersive and magical. That will set us apart from all the rest.
