Seven contestants will vie for the title at the Ms. LBW Pageant, which will be held in the Martha and Solon Dixon Center for the Performing Arts at the Andalusia Campus on Thursday, February 2.
Interviews with distinguished judges will be part of the program. There will also be an opening act, participant talent and self-expression questions. The program also includes a portion on wellness. The talent portion will be performed by contestants at 4:45 p.m., with the finals at 6 p.m.
Katie King, Director of Student and Community Engagement at LBW, stated that this year’s pageant would serve as a preliminary to the Miss Alabama Volunteer Scholarship Pageant. “The contestant selected as Miss LBW will be able to choose between a $500 tuition scholarship or a $3000 LBW institution scholarship, and also an invitation to compete in Miss Alabama Volunteer. During her year as Ms. LBW span>, she will have many opportunities to help her community.
These are the contestants in this year’s Miss LBW Pageant.
Caroline Bailey Bailey Bailey is a Fairhope freshman. She is a Fairhope freshman and is a LBW volleyball player. She plans to major in forensic psychological. For her talent, she will perform a monologue.
Caitlyn Brandenburg
Brandenburg is a Samson freshman. She is enrolled in the LBW Cosmetology Program. She will be performing “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack.
Audrey Danford
Danford is a sophomore in Andalusia. She is currently pursuing a nursing degree. Imagine Dragon will be her musical accompaniment.
Rhian Grayson
Grayson is a Greenville freshman. She is a member of the LBW Ensemble. She will be performing “Almost There” from The Princess and the Frog.
Faith Mitchell
Mitchell, a sophomore from Andalusia, is majoring English Education and Theatre. As president of the LBW Compass Club, she is also a member. For her talent, she will perform a comedy monologue.
Sunny Odom
Odom, a Brantley freshman, is in the LBW Early Childhood Development Program. Odom will perform a praise dance to the song “He Wants it All” in recognition of her talent.
Destiny Presley
Presley, a Luverne freshman, plans to majorin Business and Sports Media. She will be performing hip-hop to Lil Mama’s “Lip Gloss”.
Tori Hobbs from Wicksburg was crowned Ms. LBW2022 winner last January.
General admission costs $5, and is free for LBW students.
