Mary Peltola, a Republican, has selected Josh Revak to fill the important staff position of state Director.
Revak stated in an emailed announcement about his new job that “we may have different party affiliations but the job involves serving all Alaskans.”
Revak, a combat veteran, was an Anchorage state senator when he applied to run for the U.S. House after Don Young’s death. Revak received the endorsement of Young’s widow, but finished 10th during the crowded special primary.
Peltola stated in an email statement that Revak’s expertise will prove useful for constituents needing help with the federal bureaucracy. Revak will be the first point to contact for Alaskans seeking assistance with federal casework or agencies.
Peltola has employed several Republican staffers, which is a rare thing in Congress.
“Since my victory with support from Alaskans of both sides, I’ve been building an team ready to tackle issues that unify us,” she stated.
Alex Ortiz was Young’s chief of staff.
