A single-man, world-record setting tennis player Bob Holmes will be in Covington County this week to address several churches and schools in the region about how you can be an ace by beating odds.

Bob is scheduled to begin his journey throughout Covington County by addressing the residents from Fairmount Baptist Church in Red Level Sunday, February. 5 10:10 a.m. He will also visit Pleasant Home School at 8:30 a.m. and Fleeta Jr. High School at 1 p.m. on Monday, February. 6. He will be sharing his story and his expertise in a group of Straughn Middle School students at 8:30 a.m. and Straughn High School students at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February. 7. Florala High School will be his next stop on Wednesday, February. 8, at 9:00 a.m. Sixth-grade students of W.S. Harlan Elementary will also be attending FHS. Bob will be in Red Level School Thursday, February. 9 starting at 10:10 a.m. His week at FHS will conclude with a volleyball event on Friday, Feb. 10 beginning at 7. p.m. on Straughn Middle School. The public is welcome to go to any of these school-related events.

Bob travels around all over the United States and around the world playing games of exhibition volleyball in teams. He also talks to audiences on topics like bullying and teen suicide. So far, Bob has played over 20000 games of volleyball with teams, and delivered his inspiring message to a crowd of more than six million. Bob has more than 20,000 wins and only 417 loss.

Bob was also known to play volleyball on his own against professional teams such as those of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins, Toronto Blue Jays, Buffalo Bills as well as The Washington Commanders, and Baltimore Orioles. Bob holds the record in the world for playing more events in any single sport, more than every other player alive. He was included in the “Ripley’s Believing It Or Not” world record book. He’s been mentioned in ABC News, CBS This Morning, CNN, USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.

Since the year 1983 Bob is devoted to others prevent and manage depression and anxiety in teens and adults or bullying, as well as suicide. He continues to be awe-inspiring to audiences with his inspiring and inspirational message. Numerous lives have been touched through the thousands of letters that he has received. Many have mentioned that they contemplated or had planned to commit suicide but decided against it after watching his play and talk. Others have said they learned from him how to cope with difficult situations, negative emotions as well as depression, bullying and other issues.

Following watching the Globetrotters basketball team entertain a crowd , and witnessing their joy the people around them, Bob thought of forming a idea of a volleyball team that was just one man. Bob began to think about how the team could participate in games for exhibition and spread his message to pupils in public schools.

Bob is now traveling across the country playing anywhere from forty to sixty volleyball games per week on his own against a variety of teams. He aims to show that everyone can be an ace in beating all odds’ various crowds and groups, including teachers, students and military veterans, prisoners of correctional facilities, National Guard, fans at sporting events, and many more.
