Danford was awarded a cash tuition award along with an opportunity to be a contestant for Miss Alabama Volunteer. Along with Ms. LBW, she also received awards in the Wellness, Talent and interview categories.
“I was stunned when I heard that I was by Ms. LBW. I’ve always longed to hold an collegiate title, but I did not think I could make this dream into reality. The title of Ms. LBW means so much to me due to the significance LBW has had on my life. Making the decision to choose LBW is the most logical choice I’ve ever made regarding my education. So being in a position to represent the institution that has changed my life is a privilege,” Danford said. “I am so grateful to become the new Mrs. LBW.
She began taking part in pageants when she was a small girl.
“My mother and me both wanted to in costumes and we enjoyed the two pageants to the max. As a child in seventh grade I took part with Junior Miss Memolusia, and that was when my pageant career began. Through the following five years I took part in a variety of local pageants, and I was looking forward to participating in Memolusia each year. I also competed in various scholarship programs, such for”the Covington County Distinguished Young Woman program.”
Her most memorable part of her experience at the Ms. LBW competition was the bonding between the seven contestants. “It provided me with the chance to make new acquaintances. When we were on stage, all the girls assisted one another. We all helped one another get ready for our quick change and provided each other with the encouragement we required,” she said.
Danford’s talent was her lyrical dancing to the tune “Bad Liar” by Imagine Dragons and choreographed by Callie Hatchet. Danford began dancing when she was just three years old.
“I was a pupil of creativity at Andalusia Ballet. I danced all through my middle and elementary school years, and was a part of both the Junior as well as the Senior Company. After taking a break from the high school year, I turned into an elite dancer and participated in numerous contests. I like dancing due to the fact that I am in a position to tell stories through my body movements on my own. It’s my method to express myself and also my preferred method of releasing stress.”
She believes that it is most important to be prepared for the entire pageant rather than any one area in particular. “This means you are more confident about your performance. Each time I’m fully prepared for any situation I can see a huge improvement with my performances. The preparation is the key to success.”
Even though she took home at the Interview section, Danford stated that she did not feel confident about the result.
“In my interview for this pageant, I chose to be completely me and reveal to the judges who I am. I love the interview section of a pageant as I am a huge person who enjoys talking to people. Also, the interview provides me with the chance to meet new people.”
She was born in Andalusia and was a graduate of Andalusia High School in 2021. Her parents are Phillip Danford and Mary Ann Danford. Danford’s younger brother Chance Danford, currently an AHS sophomore. AHS.
Danford’s next goal is the transfer of his student to Auburn University and enroll in the nursing program.
“I want for a career as a labour and delivery nurse, and intend to remain in the nursing profession for a couple of years. Through the course of my career in nursing, I hope to complete my master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and, hopefully, be able to secure the CNO job in the hospital,” she said.
Her mother was the one who led her to this point in her life. “She is my main source of inspiration and support throughout my life. She is a remarkable person who taught me all I have learned about life. I am very fond of her and consider it honor to consider her my mother.”
