Dear Editor,
A lot of Americans are aware of the separation between state and church Some are aware of why it is crucial to separate. Many people are unaware of why these two groups of society need to cooperate with one another, and that’s why they’re always discussed in the same sentence.
The state and the church had superpowers in the past.
The church’s superpower was the capacity to identify and educate about the difference between evil and good. The power of the government was the capacity to translate the law that was good and prosecute criminals.
These superpowers have gone away today. Church has given up, and claims that everything is fine. The government has lost the ability to control the populace.
Today , the church claims that the gap in wealth and the pornographic and gambling industries aren’t that terrible, and crime isn’t a huge problem. Congress as well as state legislators glance at the horizon when it becomes clear that key provisions of the Constitution have been sucked dry and are rotting to the floor.
If we do not have superpowers, how do we be able to do as a nation? We struggle over the smallest of things and lack self-esteem.
It is time to rethink the distinction in good from evil. We should clean the good from our laws and begin in the prosecution of the evil.
