Anniston, AL –As previously reported in July of 2022 , the U.S. Attorney began federal efforts to reduce the number of violent crimes throughout Calhoun County. One of the suspects who were who were part of these initiatives is Antoine McClellan, 32 , of Anniston. He was arrested for possession with the intent of distributing methamphetamine. According to AlabamaNow Anniston officers conducted two traffic stops within two days, in vehicles owned by McClellan. In June of 2021 police officers stopped traffic in Heflin on a car operated by McClellan. After searching the vehicle, officers found an empty plastic bag that contained marijuana as well as a clear plastic bag filled with methamphetamine. Inside the trunk car officers located the backpack, which contained three clear plastic bags that contained methamphetamine.
In June of 2021 An Anniston police officer made an arrest within Anniston on a car with McClellan was the passenger. The officers seized five bags of “ice” (methamphetamine) from an unopened cardboard box that was placed under the spare tire of the trunk of the car. The total amount of the ice was more than six kilograms worth of pure methamphetamine in McClellan.
U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona, and Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent in Charge Brad L. Byerley. They announced U.S. District Court Judge, Corey Maze, sentenced Antoine Marque McClellan, to 232 months (19 years) in prison. McClellan admitted guilt to 2 counts of possessing with the intention to distribute methamphetamine on October 2022.
