The Mr. Robert Harper “Booster” Foshee Jr., age 94, of Red Level passed away at his home on Monday, February. 27.

Funeral ceremonies for The late Mr. Foshee will be held on Friday, March 3 at 11 a.m. in the Foreman Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jimmy Aaron and Rev. Diane Everette officiating. Funeral services will be held in the Long Branch Cemetery in Cohassett.

Mr. Foshee was survived by his wife of his 66 years Lindel Moon Foshee from Red Level; two sons, Robert H. Foshee III (Belinda) of Red Level, and Lewis Moon Foshee (Laurie) of Tampa, Florida; four grandchildren, Robert H. (Rob) Foshee IV David J. Foshee, Kaitlin Elizabeth Foshee as well as Preston Lewis Foshee; one sister, Imogene F. Dillon of Montgomery and two sisters-in-law: Becky Rodgers (Morgan) and Patsy Moon.

Growing up from Covington County “Booster” which was how he came to be known, went to the school and later graduated Red Level High School. The student was not old enough for the military during WWII and was enrolled at the Marion Military Institute. After Marion was finished, he went to Auburn University and graduated with an agricultural banking degree. Following his graduation, he began to work for Monroe County Bank. Monroe County Bank in Monroeville. He was later recruited to the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a Sergeant First Class in the division of combat engineers. In the Army was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery.

After the conflict, Booster came back to Red Level. He was hired at the Peoples Bank of Red Level following the passing of his father. He was employed at the bank, and later served as the president until the time of his retirement in 2000. He was honored in 2001 when he was recognized with a certificate from the Alabama Bankers Association for 50 years of distinguished service to the Alabama Commercial Banking Industry. He continued to serve the bank as Chairman of its Board until 2022. A faithful and committed member of the Red Level Methodist Church. In his spare time he was a fan of working on his forest land and care for his cows. The work he did on the forest led to the land being declared an Alabama Treasure Forest.

Pallbearers include Bob Bellows, Tom Clem, Andrew Crawford Dillon III, Tim Easterling, Frank O’Neil, Brad Reidenauer, Larry Rodgers, Lenn Ryals as well as Paul Sanders.

The family will be receiving visitors on Thursday, March 2 beginning at 5:45 p.m. in the Foreman Funeral Home. Flowers will be available or donations can be donated towards the charitable organization of your preference.
