Gilbert council delays rezoning land for controversial Ranch project amid anger from residents

The Gilbert Town Council delayed a vote on rezoning for The Ranch, which is a large industrial project, until Dec. 13.

The Ranch is a mixed-use development that will use 255 acres of the property’s 302 acres. It would reduce the need for office and commercial space on the remaining 302-acres. Although significant progress has been made we believe that more time would be beneficial for both sides.

The meeting was attended by 22 residents. 1,337 online petitions were submitted opposing the project to the town. One person opposed it. Some residents suggested they might petition the town to stop The Ranch’s rezoning if the council doesn’t make meaningful changes.
