The Bulldogs improved to 7-0 overall, whereas the Bobcats dropped to 0-2 for the season.
Conner Brooks quickly retired the team on five pitches in the middle of the initial. AHS did not manage to benefit from three two-out walks in its own half, because the game was unresolved. Mason Meeks earned a one-out walk in the bottom part of the frame but was unable to stay after two flyouts. PHS had a 1-0 advantage in the middle of the third, when Carson Leddon led off with an RBI and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Collin Stewart. Brooks managed to avoid further damage, leaving two runners in the game.
Riley Cravey opened the last of the third innings with one to the left side and scored the winning run off an unhit ball. Both pitchers who started the game settled in and the score was 1-1 at the end in the 6th. Dylan Jackson cashed in Lathrop and Garrett Blackston with a two-run single to the right and gave Andalusia the lead of 3-1 at six. Paxton kept his momentum going with two-out rallies in the seventh inning of the game. Stewart delivered the home team of Logan Eller and Leddon with one hit to left. It put the score at 3-3.
Parker Adams began the home half with a single, and advanced to second after an error. Cravey made a run on a second miscue then Walsh was intentionally taken off the base. Lathrop made one of the pitches he saw to rightfield as Adams made it to the plate with victory.
Lathrop was the top scorer for Lathrop’s Bulldogs by going 1-for-2 on the mound. Jackson scored 1-for-3 and two RBIs, and Adams and Cravey were 1-for-4 during the victory. Brooks took the victory with an all-game effort, and gave up 3 earned runs over six hit. Brooks struck out six times, but did not allow a batter to walk.
