LBW Community College held its Military and Veterans College and Career Workshop recently at their MacArthur Campus in Opp.
The event included the presence of speakers and staff who were from LBW Community College which included: LBW President Dr. Brock Kelley, Dean of Student Affairs Jason Jessie, Director of Student Recruitment Heather Owen, Director of Student and Community Engagement Katie King Director of Student Success Tori Norris, Student Services Coordinator Wendy Johnson, Director of Financial Aid Donna Bass, and Director of Workforce Development Chad Sutton.
College staff members highlighted information on enrollment and admissions and concurrent enrollment opportunities tutoring and counseling services apprenticeships, workforce development and continuing education classes, VA benefits, and other support resources.
A panel discussion took place with guests were Nathan Clark of SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program; Mike Warren, Veteran Employment Readiness Coordinator at the Enterprise Career Center; and Brian Foshee, Veterans Service Officer for the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs offered additional information to participants.
In the course of the event, Wiregrass Resource Conservation and Development donated $50,000 as a patron of the event. WRC&D Council WRC&D Council serves Barbour, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston, Pike and Russell counties.
