The Andalusia Public Library will host a book signing Thursday for Trippy McGuire, who recently published “A Roaring 20’s Flapper Who Broke Glass Ceilings: Winnie Wright in the Early Boomtown Years of Opp, Alabama.”
McGuire, who is a retired District Judge, has written a local history column for The Opp News for several years.
The book, which is his first, takes the reader through the Roaring Twenties as seen through the eyes of a young woman in her adopted hometown of Opp during its early boomtown years.
The event is set for 2 until 4 p.m., and the book will be available for $25.
The library is located at the corner of S. Three Notch and Dunson streets.
