The Local Head Start and Early Head Start programs are currently accepting applications in accordance with the Southeast Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission.

The programs are available to children from birth to five. Women who are pregnant and children of different abilities are invited to apply.

Head Start and EHS are federally-funded programs that are focused on families and community-oriented, addressing the emotional, social nutritional and health requirements of children who are eligible for income and families.

The programs are available for free but with a fee.

For enrollment, you will need the required documents including birth certificates, an insurance plan birth record, school records Medicaid record and immunization certificate. Income proof can be supplied with Tax forms, W2 paystubs (one year) or child support as well as unemployment benefit.
