Piedmont, AL – According to Piedmont chief of Police, Nathan Johnson, on the 16th of March 2023, 2023 around 12:41 pm. officers responded to Piedmont High School due to an Snap Chat photo and video that were discovered to show an individual was carrying a firearm on campus the day before and was threatening the police with the weapon, and posting the threat on Snap Chat of threats made in the school’s parking lot. When the administration of the school was made aware about the threats, school was put into lockdown and Law Enforcement was notified. Campus was cleared ensure that the suspect was not on campus. In the course of the investigation, it was verified the identity of Kenneth Cole Candelario, age 19, who is currently living in Piedmont and was the one who threatened to kill. An arrest warrant was issued for Kenneth Candelario was issued for Terroristic Threats. He was swiftly taken into custody. Kenneth Candelario was interviewed by investigators before being taken into the Calhoun County Jail where a $10,000 bond was established with an initial Court date of 17 April 2023.
