Calhoun County, AL – I in lieu of an Calhoun County tournament, county boys soccer teams will compete in the Isaac Crook Invitational; girls will be playing in the county tournament
The brand new Isaac Crook Invitational will replace the boys’ Calhoun County soccer tournament this year. In addition, the girls will play in their county championship. The number of the varsity boys’ football teams from the county has shrunk by two in the current season. Faith Christian doesn’t have any boys’ teams, and Saks was not able to field enough players. This means that there aren’t enough high schools within the county field have an varsity boys’ soccer team to host an annual county tournament this year. Five teams remained created The Isaac Crook Invitational in honor of Isaac Crook, a late Weaver High School player.
Crook was killed while working out at the Weaver track on December. 3 of 2020. He played soccer for Weaver. In the Isaac Crook Invitational will play out on campus venues of teams with higher seedings between on April 4, and 7 April. The championship game scheduled for the 8th of April on Choccolocco Park.
