Juneau police did not give many details when they announced last week that Anthony Michael Migliaccio was being held in connection to the September killing of Faith Rogers. Court documents reveal the details of his arrest and how he ended in police custody for another incident.
Migliaccio was allegedly harassed by Heritage Coffee’s barista on Mendenhall Rd in June. According to court documents, the barista claimed that Migliaccio had thrown a cup full of feces at them.
A Juneau police officer made contact to Migliaccio eighty minutes later. He denied that he had thrown the cup of feces at a barista.
The incident was captured by police two days later. According to Juneau police, the case was forwarded the the city attorney’s office.
The court documents do not provide any explanation of what happened to the case over the next three months. Juneau Police Department could not provide any details about what happened after the transfer to the city lawyer, and the city attorney’s office didn’t respond to Monday’s requests for additional information.
Faith Rogers’ corpse was discovered near the trailhead for the Kaxdigoowu Heen Dei (or Brotherhood Bridge Trail) on Sept. 21. According to the charging documents, Migliaccio was questioned and detained on suspicion of murder. He was then released.
According to court documents, Migliaccio was arrested nine days later on September 30, according to court records.
The harassment charges were a Class A Misdemeanor. His sentence was not issued until November 23, which was the same day he was arrested on suspicion of murder in the case against Faith Rogers. This arrest was made at the same address as Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
According to the Juneau District attorney’s office, the state has declined to answer any questions regarding the murder charge.
Migliaccio is currently being held at Lemon Creek Correctional Center under $500,000 bail. He pleaded guilty to the murder charge.
