Rorie Watt will step down as the city’s manager in Juneau at the end of September.

Watt was the city’s manager for seven years. This was a time in which Juneau witnessed significant growth in tourism that was which was interrupted by the outbreak and began its recovery in the economy. He’s been with the city for over 30 years in all in all.


The span style=”font-weight 400 ;”>”Not many individuals are fortunate enough to have the privilege of managing their own town, and it’s about time for me to explore different interests in life,” he wrote in a letter addressed to members of the Juneau Assembly. “CBJ is a great group of employees. I am very satisfied with the performance of the company. .”


Watt has written in his blog that Human Resources Director Dallas Hargrave and Deputy Manager Robert Barr will help the Assembly to hire an additional manager.

Watt’s departure is almost two months following the time when city’s Finance Director, Jeff Rogers, announced that he was going to quit his job .
