The Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (LBWCC) Foundation has unveiled the New $50,000 Wing Solar Scholarship by Origis Energy and PowerSouth Energy Cooperative.
The endowment was result from the Wing Solar project completed in Covington County, Alabama in March 2023.
The program is administered through the LBWCC Foundation, The Wing Solar Scholarship will be awarded to students who show financial need and intend for pursuing a master’s degree from an Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) related field.
The donation to Origis Energy, one of America’s top renewable energy platforms comes from its commitment to making long-lasting contributions to the communities the areas in which it operates.
“We are extremely thankful for the cooperation and support provided by Origis as well as PowerSouth,” said Dr. Brock Kelley, LBWCC President. “We are seeing increasing numbers of students who are keen on STEM related careers. this endowed scholarship will assist students make the most of these opportunities.”

The Wing Solar Scholarship will enable winners to fulfill their academic goals and seek jobs in an STEM related field.
