Anniston, AL –Jackson Hodges Director of Public Relations in Anniston, AL -Jackson Hodges, Public Relations Director for City of Anniston announced that on behalf of the World Changers organization, they regret to inform the public that World Changers will not be providing home repair services to the public in 2023. After soliciting 2023 applications for home repair by Anniston residents, the City of Anniston officials were informed of this decision from World Changers on April 24 2023. World Changers cited a lack of volunteers to carry out the repairs to homes in a timely and correct manner as the reason behind this cancellation notification.
World Changers is an organization which has previously carried out home repair and renovation projects within Anniston, the City of Anniston. Anniston’s City of Anniston Community Development Department collaborates in partnership with World Changers and provides the organization with financial support to finish the repairs to homes. World Changers arranges volunteers and oversees, coordinates and completes each repair. Unfortunately, the number of volunteers was not at the level required for 2023.
Mr. Hodges would also like to clarify his position that “decision to end 2023 World Changers services in Anniston is beyond the city’s control. The City of Anniston officials will continue to be diligent to help our community members with their needs. We are exploring alternative ways to provide beneficial community services. .”
