Southeast AlabamaWorks recently partnered with PowerSouth Energy Cooperatives to hold the third annual Regional Resume Contest. Contestants participated in a regional resume contest, where the winner was chosen to receive $250 in addition to an advance into the regional contest.

The regional final was held on Saturday The 10 county representatives took part in a panel-interview competition to choose a winner of a scholarship.

The winner this year this year is Charlie McVay of Crenshaw County. McVay won $225 for the winning of his local contest and a bonus of $1,000 to be the winner of the regional championship.

The scholarship is funded by donations from PowerSouth Energy Cooperatives — Covington Electric Co-op, Pea River Electric Cooperative, South Alabama Electric Co-op, and Wiregrass Electric Co-op.

County Winners include: Jamie Halstead, Barbour County; Vivian Gates, Butler County; Ella Hogan, Coffee County; Jacob Jernigan, Covington County; Charlie McVay, Crenshaw County; Austin Horne, Dale County; Shelba Grace Hagler, Geneva County; Mollie Hix, Henry County; Seth Monk, Houston County; and Aicey Hawkins, Pike County.
