Two classes from Red Level School’s First Class Pre-K class took an excursion to the post office in their town on April 20, 2014, Thursday.

The trip offered four-year-olds the chance to understand the origins of their mail and how to buy stamps, and also how to mail packages and letters.

Red Level has two Pre-K classrooms. The teachers in one class include Samantha Gipson and Leola Poindexter. The teachers of in the 2nd class include Susan Lee and Courtney Williamson.

“Since there is a post office close to our school, our children went to the post office and were joined by an adult or parent together with their teachers. The walk also allowed parents time to participate, which is necessary for the Pre-K program. It’s been a tradition over the years and we always look eagerly to take our children into the postal office each year. We’d like to say thank you to all postal employees along with the Ms. Judy King for the many years she has allowed us to come. Thank you from all of the RLS family and community members,” Poindexter said.

Its Red Level Post Office is situated at 2806 Smiley Street. The hours are open Monday through Friday, from 7:15 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:30 until 10:30 a.m.
