Gulf Shores, AL – With Lewis and Taylor taking the lead Anniston’s boys take the lead on last day of the state track meet and again claiming the title of the Class 4A champions. Included are scoring scores for all the teams in the region.
Get two consecutive state track championships for Anniston’s boys.
Jayden Lewis was the winner of the 100 200-meter and 100-meter dashes, while Malachi Taylor took home in the triple-jump to take the lead in the Bulldogs to their last-day victory at Gulf Shores. They moved up from eighth place in the team standings to finish with 81 points, which is 27 higher than the second place Priceville.
Lewis is a star defensive back, kick returner who is an Auburn football player was the winner of the 100 meters in 10.72 seconds and the 200 in 21.89.
Taylor completed the triple jump, which covered 44 feet as well as 3.75 inches. Taylor also placed fourth on the long-jump (21-09) and added five points.
Anniston scored an 81-point lead, scoring 68 of them on Saturday.
Anniston also scored first-place finishes for the 4×400 (3:27.89) and 4×800 (8:17.29) relays, as well as placing fifth at the end of 4×100 (44.32).
Other noteworthy scoring results included Javen Croft’s second place in the triple jump (43-01.5) and fifth place in the jump to high (6-00). Keddrick Jordan finished second place in the 400-meter dash (51.18) on Friday.
“To God be the glory! We’re overjoyed,” Anniston coach Lisa Howard Holland stated. “People constantly told I that this was difficult to do over again, and it was. Then the distraction arose after which there was an extended rainy day, however we stayed going with the flow and worked as a group and believed that nothing was inconceivable for God.”
In other events, Ohatchee’s boys as well as girls, both leading in 3A after a great performance in their most competitive events on Friday, fell. The girls placed sixth, and the boys were eighth.
The boys of Weaver’s shot up the scoreboard this weekend to be sixth in 3A.
Donoho’s girls, who were second in 1A on Friday ended eighth. White Plains’ girls took fifth place in 4A.
Faith Christian’s boys’ first year squad finished fifth in 1A, on the back from three champions at state, one runner-up and two third-place finish.

Alexandria, Class 5A

The girls earned four points off Liberty Lewis’ fifth-place finish in the 400 race (1:01.34). Christiyuna’s Reed placed sixth in the 200 (26.17). The Bulldogs took in the 4×100 (50.25) and 4×400 (4:12.39) relays.
Donoho, Class 1A
For the girls of Donoho Jumper Estella Connell has the ability to fly, and did, claiming first place in long jump (5-02) along with triple jump (33-08) and third in the long jump (15-01.75). Rory Parks took fifth in the pole vault (7-0) and sixth in the 100 hurdles (19.25).
The boys 4×800 relay team finished seventh (9:34.55) and the 4×400 relay team came in the seventh (3:49.46). Riley Goodson took third in the 3,200 (11:05.74) and seventh (5:12.61) in the 1,600 to earn two points. Ethan Crawford was eighth (55.12) in the 400 to earn one point.
Faith Christian Class 1A
Brady Whitworth gave Faith Christian’s boys first-place results on the 200 (51.53) followed by third place at the 200 (23.13) 6th for the 100 (11.62) and eighth in the triple jump (38-04.5).
Carson Limbaugh won the 3,200 (10:57.17) and was the third place (5:01.53) at the 1,600. Eli Mitchell was second (11:04.09) in the 3,200.
Tyler Bell was eighth (2:13.40) in the 800 meters.
The team’s 4×800 relay earned 10 points for an overall first-place time (9:06.37). The Lions also placed sixth place in 4×100 (46.10) and 4×400 (3:48.08).
Glencoe Class 3A, Glencoe
Katie Giles took fourth (5:30.60) in the 1,600 race for five points. She was seventh in the 800-meter (2:30.10) as well as seventh place in the 3,200 (12:26.84). The relay team 4×800 took sixth place (11:37.84).
Handley Class 3A
The boys had the top scoring marks across all three relays: the first place finish in 4×100 (43.0) and second for 4×400 (3:29.02) and seventh in the 4×800 (8:23.23).
Nemo Askew placed third in the 300-meter jumps (40.83) as well as seventh at the triple jump (41-08.25). Devontae Higgins placed the fourth spot (6-02) at the top of the jump. Elijah Stegall was sixth in the triple jump (41-09.5) while Jay Haynes was seventh in the long jump (20-11).
The girls 4×100 relay team finished third place (51.47).
Jacksonville, Class 4A
Kydric Fisher was the top boy by taking fourth place on the triple-jump (42-10) as well as fifth place in the long leap (21-02.25). Ronnie Matthews was sixth in the 200 (22.65).
The boys 4×400 relay team placed fourth (3:33.32) while the 4×800 relay team came in the sixth (8:30.99).
Lincoln Class 5A
Elijah Carter took fourth (44-00) in the triple jump. Jalen Turner placed 8th in the 300 jumps (42.62). The boys 4×400 relay team finished fifth place (3:34.22).
For girls, Sharliyah Strown placed fifth at the triple leap (31-01.5).
Munford Class 4A
Distance-running ace Dakota Frank took second in the 3,200 (9:40.23) and was second at the 800 (1:57.09) and third in the 1,600 (4:22.30). Javion White was 6th in shot put (44-08).
The girls’ 4×100 relay placed 8th (52.37).
Ohatchee Class 3A
Chris Ferguson led Ohatchee’s boys with his fourth outdoor state victory in the pole vault (13-06). The teammate Ethan Wiggins (9-06) finished third, while Colby Hester (9-06) took fifth place.
Disco, Luke Vinson (118-01) placed third. Tyler Waters (114-07) was fourth.
For the Ohatchee girls, Crook repeated her state javelin title by throwing throws of 129-03, and also added gold in high jump at 5-04. Crook was second for the shot put (35-07).

Oxford Class 6A
For Oxford’s boys Noah George, the two-time Calhoun County cross country champion who took home two of the three distance races at the track meet of the county was fourth place (9:35.66) for the 3,200, and sixth at the race of 1,600 (4:25.71).
Darrell Gooden added six points in third place (167-09) for javelin and DeAndre Archie finished seventh overall in the triple jump (42-07.25).
The relay team of 4×100 was second (42.38) The 4×800 relay placed 8th (8:25.51).
Distance-running ace Katie Keur, the Calhoun County cross-country champion who won the distance races at the county track meet placed fifth place in the 3,200 (11:02.03) and sixth place in the 1,600 (5:05.74).
Chaci Whitfield placed second in both the 100-meter hurdles (15.54) and 300 hurdles (45.25). She finished 6th in the high jump (5-02).
Gabrielle Lindsey took seventh (108-06) in javelin to earn two points.
Piedmont 3A Class 3A
Ishmael Bethel was first at the top of her leap (6-04) and was second at the triple leap (43-05.5),
The boys 4×800 relay team finished fifth (8:49.48) The 4×400 relay team was ranked sixth (3:41.35).
Lexi Ray (9-06) took second place and Ashllyn Adderhold (9-06) third in the pole vault. Adderhold placed seventh triple leap (32-01).
Claudia Dempsey took seventh (1:04.02) in the 400, and eight in 800 (2:30.62).
Pleasant Valley, Class 2A
Clark Hill was sixth in the 300 hurdles (43.53) and Zeke Curvin was sixth in discus (121-00).
The boys 4×800 relay team came in sixth place (9:21.50).
Ella Parris took third (1:02.45) in the 400, and sixth in the 100 hurdles (17.97) and Victoria Turner was fourth (31-07) in shot put.
The girls 4×400 relay team finished the eighth team (4:38.02).
Saks, Class 3A
Marrio Curry finished the eighth (53.17) at the time of 400.
Wadley Class 1A
Frisco Robertson finished 5th (11.54) for the 100 race and five (54.36) for the 200. The 4×100 relay team placed the seventh (46.35).
A’Mya’s Brown came in the third (94-04) for discus, while Celeste Angel was third in javelin (101-02). Alyssa Richardson finished seventh place in the 100 obstacles (19.36). Rylee Holloway came in sixth place on the javelin (92-07) and seventh in shot put (27-07).
Weaver Class 3A
The Weaver boys had a soaring Saturday, beginning with three top-scoring finishes during the 110 hurdles. Keshawn Allen won (15.36). D.J. Marbury placed third (15.55) while Harper Williams was fifth (16.19).
Williams along with Kaden Gooden each scored a score of 300 hurdles. Williams placed third (41.70) while Gooden placed fourth (42.03).
The 4×100 relay team finished 7th (45.12).
Layla Carter starred for the girls. She finished the fifth (14-09.75) for the long leap, and 6th in 200 (26.98).
Wellborn Class 3A
Grayson Johnson took seventh (132-02) in the javelin.
White Plains, Class 4A
In 4A the distance runners Maddyn Conn was the big scorer for White Plains’ girls with first-place times in the 1,600-meter race (5:10.16) in addition to the 3,200 (11:23.89). Conn also finished third in the 1,600 (2:24.55) as well as Abbie Dickeson placed 7th (2:30.97).
The girls’ relay 4×800 placed the second fastest (10:15.06).
