IRVINE (CA) — A three-car collision on the California State Route 405 freeway south of Irvine resulted in the death of one person and the injury of at least two others, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP reported that the crash occurred early Friday morning at 5 :46 a.m. It initially blocked two lanes on the freeway. Friday morning’s fatal crash caused the Jamboree southbound onramp to be closed.

Authorities said that one person was declared dead in the accident. They were not named until next-of-kin notification.

CHP reports that one person was taken by ambulance to Mission Viejo and another was taken to Orange County Global Medical Center for unspecified injuries.

Called the California Highway Patrol but were not returned immediately.

Authorities stated that all lanes of the freeway, including the Jamboree ramp, were reopened around 7:45 AM.

There was no further information immediately.
