This comes after the sub-state vote on Monday on Silver Lakes.
Ledbetter won an one-hole playoff at Heartbreaker No. 9 to win the low medal in the boys in the Class 3A North 2 sub-state and Piedmont’s girls were 2nd in Class 1A-3A North 1 sub-state in order to qualify as the team.
Ledbetter scored a 1-over-par 73 in regulation, and then parred the playoff hole to win in the final against the Laudedale County’s Freddie McConnell.

“It was,” he said. “I did not play well, but I played well and escaped in one over.”
In the lead by Brookelyn Goss’104, Piedmont’s girls were 88 strokes ahead of the state winner Lindsay Lane. The two top teams will qualify for the state championship.
“Just satisfied with our girls,” Piedmont coach Horace Bramblett stated. “All of our children have put in a lot of effort over the last few years to ensure that our program relevant. We could have made it several years in the past, but failed.
“Just very satisfied with the girls. And the guys too. It’s one of the most enjoyable groups I’ve had the privilege of coaching. There is no drama throughout the year. Great children learning and enjoying the game.”
The state championship is scheduled for both Monday and Tuesday, at the RTJ Grand National located in Opelika.
