LBW Community College reported the highest fall semester enrollment in its history.
Dr. Brock Kelley, President of LBW, gives credit to the college for its increased enrollment.
Kelley stated that “our faculty and staff deserve to be commended” for the recent increase in registration rates and headcount. Kelley said that the staff’s dedication and willingness go above and beyond to help students creates a positive learning environment. We are proud of extracurricular activities and offer more campus life opportunities.
Since the fall 2020, LBW has experienced a 16 percent rise in student headcount.
Jason Jessie, Dean of Student Affairs, stated that this historic enrollment is a testament to the dedication of all of our faculty and staff as well as their role in recruiting. We are standing against national trends of declining enrollment and adopting an all-hands-on deck approach to reach every student.
National data from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center shows that undergraduate enrollment has declined.
Kelley said, “By offering flexible scheduling, robust course offerings and identifying and removing obstacles, we help our community members achieve economic freedom.”
Since 2003, when Douglas MacArthur State Technical College was merged with Lurleen Wallace Junior College, the college has seen a 32 percent increase of enrollment.
We believe that college is for everyone, and LBW can help you tailor your college experience to meet your needs.
Spring semester registration is open. Classes begin Jan. 9, 2023.
