WICKSBURG 8, PLEASANT VILLAGE 4: Down 5-1, Pleasant Valley rallied for three runs in the final minute in the 6th. Jordan Cheatwood drew a bases-loaded walk then Emma Harvey hit a two-run single.

The number one ranked Wicksburg scored 3 runs to end the 7th inning on Megan Cochran’s RBI single, and Lana Carpenter’s two-run single. She kept Pleasant Valley to the scoreless final portion of the game.

Macey Roper, Lily Henry, Madyson Cromer, Sydney Beason and Harvey each scored an inning. Roper hit three times.

The Raiders also scored a run in the third inning on Rebekah Gannaway’s fielder’s pick in the third innings.

Pleasant Valley (21-14) will play Sumiton Christian in the 2:15 p.m. game of elimination.

Pleasant Valley 6 and SUMITON CHRISTIAN 4.: In a delayed weather elimination game that was moved from Choccolocco’s pod fields in the main field Pleasant Valley came back from a 3-0 deficit by scoring three runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

In the fifth inning, the Raiders received Cromer’s RBI double as well as RBI Singles for Beason as well as Jordan Cheatwood.

Gannaway began the sixth with a hard hit through shortstop Izzy’s legs and then over the field’s left-center fence to score an RBI triple. Henry hit a double after which Gracee Ward then followed by hitting the RBI single. Haylie Lee was able to draw a bases-loaded walk, making it 6-3.

Henry took seven hits in six innings to earn the win. Lee took over in relief for the seventh.

Class 1A

7 SPRING LEROY GARDEN 6.Things were going well at the start of Spring Garden in its Class 1A state softball championship opener at the second-ranked Leroy in a game played on Tuesday. The Panthers scored two scores in the bottom of the 1st game and then added another three in the second inning. of the second inning to secure the lead by four but the Bears added four runs in the seventh inning to win 7-6 victory.

The loss to Spring Garden dropped The Lady Panthers to the losers bracket in the match against Verbena. Helena Ingram led No. Ten Spring Garden, going 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and a double. Avery Steward, Maggie Reedy and Madi Ham all hit a pair. Kayley Kirk scored a 2-run double and a deliberate walk. Layla Ingram finished with a hit.

Gracie Mitchell and Mariah Barnes each delivered two smashes in the favor of both the Lady Bears. Mitchell also took a walk twice.

Steward lost to Steward’s Lady Panthers after going the distance and striking out four times. McKenzie Smith earned the win for Leroy in relief of Kaylee Guy. Smith took on over six innings, and had two strikeouts.

Spring GARDEN 3 VERBENA 2.Spring Garden rebounded, causing the elimination of Verbena.

Kirk made the Panthers ahead 1-0 when she hit a solo homer to right-center in the third inning’s first pitch in the third inning, and Spring Garden added two runs in the fourth inning’s top of the fourth with Ham’s two-run single to right.

Verbena was able to score two runs in the fifth inning’s bottom the fifth, including one on Jaycee Quinn’s single to the center fielder to make it a 3-3 game.

Verbena tried to score a third time in the seventh’s final frame after Kiara Ray tripled left after two pitches But Steward managed to get Maya Schuffert to ground out to win the game.

Steward won the game on the mound, allowing an earned run over six hits, with seven strikeouts and three walks.

Layla Ingram had a pair of singles infield to help Spring Garden. Lilly McCain had a hit and walked. Steward, Helena Ingram and Maggie Reedy each contributed a hit. Maggie Reedy, Helena Ingram and Steward each scored a hit. find more sports stories…]
