Milton Ray (Sam) Jordan Age 97, of Mansfield, Texas, passed in peace at his home on the 13th of May 2023.
His body will rest with his wife in Magnolia Memorial Cemetery located in Andalusia on the 25th of May 2023 around 11 a.m. at a private burial service, which was attended by relatives.
Sam was born on the 9th of July 25th, 1925 in Andalusia. In 1953, he graduated Auburn University with a degree in Civil Engineering. His work was in the construction field across in the United States for 43 years and was an associate participant in the American Society of Civil Engineers. On the 24th of June 1955 at Miami, Florida he married Amma Lillis Drinkard. The couple began an adventure together across the country after his profession as an engineer in the Civil Engineering field. They lived within Montgomery, Alabama; New Orleans, Louisiana (twice); Houston, Texas (twice); Birmingham, Alabama; Whittier and Orange, California; Boise, Idaho; Richmond, Virginia; Austin, Texas; Montgomery, Texas; Willis, Texas; Mobile, Alabama and eventually Mansfield, Texas to be near their son and daughter-in law.
In his final years, he demonstrated his imagination and talent in a wide range of activities. He devoted a lot of time to researching his family’s history He also published and wrote fiction and non-fiction pieces, and was an exceptional woodcarver who made a number of stunning shorebird and decoy models.
His wife passed away in his absence, Amma Drinkard Jordan and his parents Reuben Jordan and Lola Lee Beals Jordan and the brothers of his, V. B. Jordan, James W. Jordan, Reuben Jordan Jr. and Paul B. Jordan; his sisters, Eunice Jordan and Edwina Jordan Richburg, and their nephew Charlie Richburg.
Surviving his son are Paul Andre (Andy) Jordan and daughter-in law, Stacy as well as his sister-in law, Hazel Jordan; and nieces and nephews, Pat Siano, Paula Kustos, Suan Lacy, David Jordan, Eddie Jordan and Jim Richburg.
