Juneau Animal Rescue has resumed spay/neuter services for dogs and cats. These services have been offered in-house by the rescue for the first times since 2014.

Juneau Animal Rescue’s executive director is Samantha Blankenship. According to Blankenship, they offer a range of prices depending on your income. If pet owners are eligible, cats and small dogs can be fixed at prices as low as $55 and $130 respectively for male and female cats.

Blankenship stated that the shelter offers spaying and neutering at full price for those who are in need. “All proceeds go back into the shelter .”

Blankenship stated that nearly 3 million less pets were spayed/neutered than anticipated in the United States, according to an earlier study span style=”font weight: 400 ;”>.

The impacts were evident in Juneau. Juneau Animal Rescue was offering low-cost services at Southeast Alaska Animal Medical Center up until April. Juneau Animal Rescue saw its largest ever number of cats in dire need of homes this summer in over 20 years.

Spay and neuter are only available to healthy animals who are not considered seniors. Before spaying or neutering an animal, the clinic will not do bloodwork.

Blankenship stated that span style=”font weight: 400 ;”>” Right now, we are getting people in pretty fast,” Blankenship added. Book your appointment .”

Blankenship stated that pet owners should bring documentation to prove they are low-income and any vaccine paperwork.
