    • Pride Month is the entire month of June. there are numerous events throughout Juneau throughout the entire month which include LGBTQ films in the Gold Town Nickelodeon most days of the month, as well as an annual Pride Hike on various trails throughout town.

    Moananuiakea

    • A four-year trip around the globe begins at Juneau the month of June. This year, the Polynesian Voyaging Society will take the Hokule’a, an open-top, twin-hulled canoe powered by wind created 50 years ago, and has been on 14 expeditions since then -more than 40,000 miles across the globe. The trip is known as Moananuiakea and the team’s aim is to gain knowledge about the stewardship of land and unity among Indigenous communities all over all of the Pacific Ocean.
    • The Hokule’a is scheduled to return in Juneau after its departure from Yakutat on the weekend of June 10 and will set off for its long journey on the 15th of June. The arrival will be broadcast live on the KTOO 360TV channel beginning around 3.30 p.m on Saturday. The departure will be broadcast live at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
    • Thompson states there’s going to be opportunities to go on a tour of the Hokule’a while the boat is in place. Thompson says the canoe becomes stronger as more people take their hands on it.
