The Governor Kay Ivey has invited Alabama students to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge to encourage youngsters to incorporate reading into the summer time activities of their children.


“Each of you did your best throughout the school year and I could not be more proud of your work within the school. The summer is the perfect time to take a break from school but it’s not a time to forget about studying. To keep the progress and growth you’ve made, we need to remain active by reading throughout the summer,” said Governor Ivey.


The Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge, which started on May 19th and ends on July 31st, is open for everyone Alabama students. If you are enrolled in private, public or home-schooling from grades K-8 for the 2023-24 school term are welcome to participate in the.
