PHOENIX — After a shooting Wednesday night in downtown Phoenix, a man has been killed.

Phoenix police responded to a call about a shooting shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Officers arrived to find a man lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Phoenix Fire medics took him to the hospital where he later died.

Police have identified him as Ricardo Martinez, 39 years old.

Investigators have spoken with witnesses and believe that Martinez was involved in an argument that led to a shooting.

Police said that Martinez was the only one who was hit by gunfire.

The other suspect, identified as a male, was not present at the scene when police arrived, but returned later. Detectives interrogated him.

There have been no arrests.

Other details were not released.
