A Juneau man is missing for over one week since he went kayaking in Mendenhall Lake.
Based on reports from the Juneau Police Department Paul Jose Rodriguez Jr. 43 was last seen by his roommate on Monday.

Juneau Mountain Rescue is assisting the Alaska State Troopers, the U.S. Forest Service and other agencies in the search.
Ebert stated that officials believe Rodriguez planned to paddle towards the glacier. The post posted on Rodriguez’s page on Facebook on Tuesday shows a photo of an unmarked kayak with the glacier in the background. It also has the caption reads “Headed to the glacier!” His kayak was abandoned within Mendenhall Lake on Tuesday, according to police from the Juneau Police Department.
Rodriguez was reported missing last night. Ebert stated that she didn’t know the reason Rodriguez was not reported missing earlier.

The Alaska State Troopers didn’t immediately respond to a call for more details.
