Anniston, AL – The City of Anniston issued a press release requesting that all be aware of rising temperatures which are predicted to reach their peak by the end of the week. With regard to the forecasted weather conditions the public cooling station located at The Bridge at the Anniston First United Methodist Church (1400 Noble St, Anniston, AL 36201) is open from 9:00 to 5:00 pm on July 21st 2023. Community members are advised to know that shelter is accessible through Interfaith Ministries of Calhoun County (1431 Gurnee Ave, Anniston, AL 36201) from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM from Monday to Thursday and the location of The Right Place (105 W 15th St, Anniston, AL 36201) from 1:30 PM to 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.
The cooling station was created through United Way of East Central Alabama in collaboration and with Anniston First United Methodist Church and Hands and Feet Ministries.
