Calhoun County, AL Calhoun County, ALAlabama Extension is hosting a meeting for watermelon/cucurbit on Tuesday August 8th from 9:00 noon to 12:00 pm at the Extension Auditorium, 1702 Noble Street, Anniston. Cucurbit crops are vines that grow in the garden. They include squash, cucumber, zucchini and pumpkin. They also include cantaloupe, pumpkin and watermelon. The topics that will be discussed during this meeting on cucurbits include selection of varieties and cucurbit disease identification as well as cucurbit insects identification. They also plan to conduct a taste test at the occasion. The plan is to bring several different cultivars from our experimental station. Please bring the fruit from your garden to tasting.
