The concert, which is organized by the Andalusia Chamber of Commerce in the area offers free music every Thursday throughout the month of July, on The grounds at Springdale Estate and the overall audience is regarded as highly positive.

Although the total attendance is lower than last year organizers have said it’s reasonable considering that last year’s event included Grammy-winning singer Lee Greenwood and there were many more visitors to the city to view the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall that was on display in Andalusia the final week of July 2022.

“July Jamz was a hot one, but it was a blast to be there!” stated AACC executive director Mellisa King. “A big thank for all our sponsors, city staff, and the chamber board for coming together to put on this fantastic free community event. All the kids enjoyed the foam frenzies as well as the dance contests every day. We ended with an Conga line that swept through the crowd of children. We had a huge turnout every week, and we look forward to seeing everyone again in July 2024.”

Andalusia Communication Director Michele Gerlach said the city monitors and estimates crowd numbers with a software that measures cellphones that enter the venue. The numbers prove that the event of this year was a huge success.

According to the tracker data the concert this year attracted 9,200 people that’s down from 1,700 the summer before; however the previous year’s Greenwood concert drew 5,400 spectators for the night’s final concert alone.

“We saw a very high level of attendance. Not only were the numbers excellent but all feedback received from us was extremely positiv,” Gerlach said.

The AACC invested around $30k to host the event and the city building the stage.

“We’ve received numerous requests and are looking into possibilities to bring people into our community and taking part. One suggestion is to have an identical event in July. Jamz festival in fall time, specifically following the opening of an amphitheater that is being built (at Heritage Park in the coming years). Heritage Park),” Gerlach explained.
