It’s a must to visit the Anniston Musuem is an museum which not only my children have grown up in, but I also visited when I was a child. It’s amazing to visit the places that I enjoyed as a child as well as the many improvements and new attractions that they’ve added throughout the many years. We are so sad to leave Nature Space but we are thrilled about the new children’s play area that opens on the 31st of this month!

Ancient Egypt
The ancient Egyptians were devoted to their natural surroundings and created a religion which lasted for over three thousand years. We pay tribute to our 2300-year-old Ptolemaic (Greek-era) mummified mummies and learn about the intricate process of mummification. Relax and take in the aromas of myrrh, frankincense and other perfumes utilized during the process. Watch a short documentary about our little mummy’s (Tasherytpamenekh) travels via CT scanning and X-rays. Before leaving, get to meet the statue of Tasherytpamenekh and find out what she might have looked like in the past.

ARRIVE VERY SOON: Force Factory
Force Factory is the Anniston Museum of Natural Science’s newly created interactive discovery exhibit. We will expose our newest visitors to the ways in which these forces impact nature, ways to safeguard our lives from nature’s power, as well as its role in the evolution of human life. Through motion-based images with hands-on activities and engaging experiences Force Factory will demonstrate how the natural forces are interconnected.
