Juneau police believe that carbon monoxide was the cause of two deaths that occurred over three days on a boat that was anchored in Sandy Beach earlier this year.

Curtis Edwin Anderson, 51 was found deceased on Dusky Rock on May 31 by Erika Lee Judson who was 34. On June 3, Judson was found dead in the same boat with Amoretta Nina NicheleWesley, 28.

Based on information from the office of the state medical examiner, Juneau Police Department spokesperson Krag Campbell confirmed that Anderson and Wesley died from severe carbon monoxide poisoning. While Judson was found to be in the same room as Wesley but the report concluded that she died from “methamphetamine and amphetamine poisoning,” and carbon monoxide wasn’t an issue.

Methamphetamine consumption could have contributed to Anderson’s and Wesley’s deaths too.

Police haven’t revealed what the cause of the carbon monoxide could be and authorities from the Alaska Department of Health said the autopsies wouldn’t be made public.
