Oxford (AL) –A Swingin’ Christmas time with the Pops & Joe Gransden will take place at 7:00 PM at the Oxford Performing Arts Center. Joe Gransden, a long-time friend and leader of the Pops Orchestra, will be bringing the holiday spirit to you with his big band, trumpet player and big band leader. You’ve never seen the Atlanta Pops before. Holiday Christmas with Joe Gransden & the Atlanta Pops Orchestra Wynton Marsalis invited the Joe Gransden big band to play at the Dizzy’s Jazz Club in Lincoln Center. The group had previously performed at The Blue Note, Feinstein’s 54 Below and The Blue Note. Branford Marsalis has been in Joe’s Atlanta band and Joe has performed alongside Kenny G, who produced Joe’s CD, Close to My Heart. Joe Gransden is also praised for his exceptional trumpet playing and ability to lead large bands. He’s also a great entertainer. Joe has an inborn ability to connect with people.
