In 2008, a letter written by Albert Einstein sold at auction in London for $404,000. The handwritten note, which was that was written in Jan. 1954 was sent to the philosopher Eric Gutkind. The auction house has confirmed the authenticity of the letter.

Einstein famous physicist, who invented his theory on relativity expressed his views on God along with God and the Bible in this letter to his wife. Although biographers have described him as an ardent Christian as just a child, Albert Einstein later became an agnostic, someone who believes that no thing is known or could be understood concerning the existence or nature of God.

In the letter, which he wrote just one year before his death, Einstein said, “The word God is to me just the product and expression of human weakness the Bible, contains a collection of prestigious but still primitive tales.”

In reading about the thoughts of one of the most brilliant minds in the twentieth century, I was wondering what other historical and scientific figures could have to say about this subject, specifically the Bible. Sir William Herschel, who made many discoveries on the laws of heaven and the heavens, believed “All human discoveries appear to be only made to enlarge to ever greater Truths that are contained inside Scriptures. Sacred Scriptures.”

Sir Isaac Newton, an English physicist, was born a little more than a century prior to Einstein.

Newton said, “There are more sure evidence of the authenticity of the Bible than in any other written historical record. I believe that The Bible to be an authoritative Word of God, written by men who were guided. I read the Bible every day.”

The inventor and agricultural scientist George Washington Carver once said, “The secret of my success? It’s simple. It is contained within the Bible.” Robert A. Millikan Nobel Prize winner American scientist, wrote “I consider a thorough understanding of the Bible an essential requirement of an educated person. Kontakt with the most influential influences ever to come to humankind can only be achieved this manner.”

“It is impossible to slave either socially or mentally a Bible-reading population. The tenets of the Bible are the foundation of human liberty,” according to Horace Greeley who was the founder of the New York Tribune. Abraham Lincoln stated, “I consider that the Bible is the most valuable present that God has ever given mankind.”

According to Napoleon, “The Bible is not just a book, it’s a living thing with a power that can conquer anyone who opposes the Bible.” Two figures who were crucial to the independence of our nation have expressed their opinion. George Washington said, “It is impossible to manage this world in the absence of God as well as God and the Bible.” Patrick Henry said, “The Bible is worth every other book that has ever been published.”

It doesn’t require an Einstein to appreciate the importance of the Bible God’s holy Word. I am able to testify to the veracity of this precious book that is addressed to me personally. It’s a light to my feet and a beacon for my path. In actual fact, “heaven and earth will be gone,” but God’s Word is never ending, because it is the “word from the Lord is eternal” (Psalm 119:105; Luke 21:33; 1 Peter 1:25).
