Jacksonville, AL –The Office of the president of the University at JSU has announced the relatives, friends and colleagues of JSU student Mariah Casiano will hold a memorial service to honor her on Monday, September. 4 beginning at 6 p.m. at the steps leading to The Theron Montgomery Building. All are invited.
Casiano is a 22-year-old Anniston native, was enrolled at JSU after she graduated at the age of 22 from Saks High School. She majored in psychology and was part of Psi Chi, Psychology Club, Active Minds and Peer Educators. She was recently on the Dean’s List and was awarded the Nathan Jackson Sparks Memorial Scholarship from the Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama. She was due to be a graduate in December.
An employee for a long time at JSU Dining, Mariah was well-known as a helpful cashier in TMB Food Court. TMB Food Court. The memorial ceremony is scheduled for Labor Day, when campus will be closed to all of her colleagues and students can attend.
Authorities haven’t yet disclosed the cause of death as Mariah was found dead in her college residence on Wednesday. We request, to honor the family members of her that you give Mariah’s family the time they require to grieve the loss.
