Red Level gave a valiant effort, but fell short 3-1 to Brantley in a varsity home volleyball game on Thursday, September. 14.

The Lady Bulldogs moved to 6-4 in the regular season and started 1A Area 2 play 1-0 with a 25-11 winning streak of 25-18, 25-20. It was a loss for the Lady Tigers fell to 4-7 overall and are 1-2 against their area opponents.

SET ONE

Kayden Lord hit an ace in the opening point of the game, but Brantley embarked on a 10-point streak. Alex Grimes had three kills during the offensive run and increased the lead up to 14-3, thanks to an Ace. Kamry Lambert reduced the deficit to 16-6 by scoring an assist while Victoria Walker also added a kill in the 20-8 point. Red Level was unable to make any progress and was forced to fall into an early hole of 1-0.

SET TWO

The teams played pretty similar to one another into the set. It was the Lady Tigers built a 3-1 advantage, but then saw another increase in their lead to an loss of 6-4. Elizabeth Carroll scored an ace and caused a 6-6 tie, before two consecutive kills from Mary Driggers. Grimes provided her Lady Bulldogs an 11-9 advantage but Lord equalized the score 11-11 with an Ace. Two aces from Kendal Nichols as well as a kill by Driggers led to the gap to 17-14. This was the closest Red Level could get the remaining time and Brantley gained a 2-0 advantage during the game.

SET THREE

Carroll hit an ace in the third frame as Red Level took a 3-0 lead in the third frame. Brantley came to a draw at 5-5 before taking an 8-6 advantage. Carroll added to her lead by scoring an ace and resulted in a tie at 11-11. The teams played three times to tie before the visitors broke through and took a lead of 21-15. Kennedy Lord was able to make two aces and brought his Lady Tigers within three at 21-18. Grimes had three straight kills for match point while Lady Bulldogs took the lead. Lady Bulldogs picked up the sweep.

Following a victory over W.S. Neal the previous Monday September. 18. Red Level stays at home as it will take on McKenzie in a regional match on Thursday, September. 21.
