      • In the first version it is an increase of $38,000 to the budget of the police department as a wireless information system to upgrade the camera system. This money will come from the reserve funds of the city.
      • The second update includes an increase in the amount of money for outside agencies by a total of $10,000, which brings the total amount allocated to Coosa Valley to $150,000. Coosa Valley youth center up to $150,000.
      • The third amendment will see an increase in the non-departmental funds by $15,000, which will result in an overall allocation of $340,000 to Anniston Express. Anniston Express. The extra funds is sourced through the reserve fund.
      • In the fourth update, in the fourth modification, Regional Medical Center will receive a sum of $400,000 to fund major improvements and equipment. The money will come out of the municipal American Rescue Plan Act funds.
      • Additionally, there is an allotment of $225,000 allocated for improvements to the playground and capital improvements. This will be financed through bond funds.

      • The budget for fiscal year 2024 with a total of $46 million is now finalized. The budget contains a variety of amendments which provide funds for specific uses. These amendments were discussed thoroughly and debated at the council’s meeting earlier in the month.

    • Betty Jean Chapman – She is asking that the grass near her hour has to be cut. She has requested this numerous times. She claims that it breeds snakes, rats, and insects. She’s called to inquire about it, but was told that it’s is not natural. She also claimed that she was instructed to take the animals off and place them on someone other’s property.
  • Council comments

    • Councilwoman Smith spoke to the lady. Chapman and stated she would address the meeting afterward.
    • Councilman Roberts acknowledged everyone’s participation in the event and coming out.
    • Councilman Jenkins has reminded everyone to show up for the parade and game.
    • Mayor Draper thanked all for being out. The mayor acknowledged that the city faces significant issues, but said they’re working with a lot of dedication.
