Congresswoman Mary Peltola’s controversial selection as state director has been resigned. his position.

Josh Revak, a former Republican state legislator, was appointed to the position in February. He’s leaving the job on October. 1 to explore “other options,” he is quoted as saying in a press release Peltola’s office announced on Thursday.

Peltola has made several decisions that were not popular with Democrats who helped her get elected. The choice she made to replace Revak was among many of the ones that caused controversy. Many progressives believed that he was too conservative for an important post. He did not garner much attention in the months he was working in the post. The statement praises his efforts to provide strong advocacy and a strong support for Alaskans.

Peltola has appointed the aide she has worked with in Congress IntiMayo Harbison who is the temporary state director. Harbison was a state legislative assistant and reside in Anchorage.

Peltola hasn’t been back her visit to her home in the U.S. Capitol since her husband’s death in a plane crash on September. 12. Her office has said she gets news on House floor members. House floor and is ready to go back to Congress should her vote be required to prevent an unplanned shutdown of the government.
