Republican Greg White announced Friday, September. 29th, that he will be seeking another term as chairman of the Covington County Commission.

“I find it to be an privilege to serve the citizens from Covington County on the County Commission,” White declared. “In the past few years, we’ve achieved the balance of our budget, boost the balance of our funds and continue to cut down on the amount of our debt that we owe in the long run, all the while providing annually cost-of-living increases for our employees as well as meeting the new demands of the government at all levels. .”
“We are continuing to see constant growth in our local economy, however there’s still a lot to be accomplished. Greg is an CPA practicing in private practice. He is an associate in White, McClung and Barber LLC which is a company situated in Andalusia. He has been working as a public accountant since the year 1984. providing individuals, small-sized firms, as well as non-profits.
Greg along with his spouse Jan both have an extensive tradition of civic, church, as well as community participation. They were committee members for Sav-A-Life of Covington County (a crisis pregnancy center). Greg was also an early director of an addiction recovery program (Crossover Ministry) as well as of the Andalusia City Schools Foundation and both remain active in these and other groups.
